Hal Andrews

Hal Andrews is a healthcare business leader with over 25 years’ experience as an entrepreneur, executive and investor. Hal has served as the President and CEO of Trilliant Health since its founding in June 2017. Hal currently serves on the Board of Directors of Trilliant Health and Mployer Advisor and on the Board of Advisors for the Nashville Capital Network.

Hal has previously served in executive roles at Aegis Health Group, Digital Reasoning, Shareable Corporation, Availity, LLC, RevPoint Healthcare Technologies, Martin Ventures and Data Advantage. Additionally, Hal has previously served on the Board of Directors of AccuReg, Aegis Health Group, Ascender Software, CareTeamConnect, Leadership Healthcare, Lincor Solutions, Medify, Nashville Health Care Council, Shareable Corporation and RevPoint Healthcare Technologies.

Hal began his career as an attorney with Waller Lansden Dortch and Davis and has two undergraduate degrees from Southern Methodist University, as well as a law degree from The University of Tennessee.

 

Ryan Donohue

Ryan Donohue is considered a thought leader in healthcare consumerism and patient engagement. He currently serves as Strategic Advisor for NRC Health, the largest surveyor of healthcare consumers in the U.S., and as an Advisor for The Governance Institute, the leading educator of healthcare executives and trustees in the country. Ryan has authored many publications on the topic of consumerism including The New Payer: What Makes the Healthcare Consumer Tick? and The Curious Case of the Healthcare Consumer. His latest research has culminated in a book called Patient No Longer which is now available through Health Administration Press, a division of the American College of Healthcare Executives. Ryan resides in Lincoln, Nebraska with his wife Andrea and their four wonderful, strong-willed children all under the age of twelve.

 

Jenny Fernandez, MBA

Jenny Fernandez is an award-winning executive and team coach, Columbia and NYU faculty, and brand strategist. She works with senior leaders and their teams to maximize their impact by becoming more curious, collaborative, and resilient. Her work spans Fortune 500 companies, startups, and higher education. Her global experience spans North America and Asia Pacific (Expat) and coaching in NA, LA, EU, Asia, and Africa. Jenny is bilingual and fluent in both English and Spanish.

Jenny has been recognized as LinkedIn Top Voice, Top 30 Management Thinkers to Watch - Thinkers50 Radar 2024, and Global Gurus Top30 in Brand. She was invited to join Marshall Goldsmith’s 100 Coaches Community & Agency, the world’s #1 Executive Coach and Leadership Thinker. She is a TEDx Speaker, contributing author at Harvard Business Review, Forbes, and Fast Company and featured in The Washington Post and HuffPost. She is a keynote speaker, moderator, and panelist in leadership and the new world of work. She is a Gen Z advocate.

Her unique perspective is shaped by her academic background in Applied Mathematics and Operations Research (engineering) at Columbia University and her Marketing, Strategy, Management, & Organizations MBA from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management.

Jesse Goodwin, PhD

Dr. Goodwin is the Chief Innovation Officer for the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). Dr. Goodwin is charged with serving as a catalyst for programs and initiatives that incentive a culture of innovation. She also provides oversight and coordination amongst MUSC’s innovation ecosystem, developing intrapreneurial and entrepreneurial strategies to support a diverse innovation portfolio spanning all domains of the tripartite mission. Prior to this role, Dr. Goodwin was the Vice President of Development for the Zucker Institute for Applied Neurosciences, a technology accelerator at MUSC, and had also served as the Deputy Director of the MUSC Foundation for Research Development, the organization’s technology transfer office. In 2022, she led the effort to merge these two groups into the Zucker Institute for Innovation Commercialization and now also serves as the Board Chair for the new entity.

Dr. Goodwin came to MUSC from a Boston-based intellectual property (IP) consulting firm where she was Director of the Medical Device division, providing insight to client companies on IP matters pertaining to a vast array of medical technologies. Dr. Goodwin completed a post-doctoral fellowship in the Harvard-MIT Health Sciences and Technology program. She holds a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Stony Brook University.

 

Debi Hueter

Debi Hueter is a value-based, managed care expert with almost 40 years of experience. She is currently the Executive Director of WakeMed Key Community Care (WKCC) in Raleigh North Carolina. WKCC is a Clinically Integrated Network owned by both WakeMed and Key Physician Group including 510 primary care physicians, both employed and independent providers and 1100 specialists. Her experience includes working on both the payer and provider sides of healthcare. She has worked for national payers such as Cigna and Anthem. She has also worked for large healthcare systems such as Piedmont Healthcare in Atlanta, Ga. and Prisma in Greenville SC. She has a passion for helping physicians coordinate and take better care of their patients using data driven expertise, education, and communication.

 

Ryan Hummel

Ryan Hummel is a seasoned executive with over 20 years of experience in strategic planning and executive coaching. Throughout his career, he has worked closely with C-suite executives and VP-level teams to lead large-scale operational transformations. One of his key accomplishments includes leading a 13,000-person health system in developing and implementing an operating system that emphasized value-driven scientific methodology and human-centered problem solving. He also created system-wide site selection criteria and performed market strategy analyses to identify the most strategic locations for community-focused healthcare facilities. Additionally, Ryan led the expansion strategy for a Fortune 50 company’s retail clinic business, driving significant growth in that area.

In the realm of global program management, Ryan developed and executed initiatives that significantly reduced waste in healthcare workflows. For instance, his efforts in streamlining immunization processes saved over $2 million for a healthcare company. He has also overseen the design and operational processes of both new and existing retail clinics, enhancing the physical layouts and implementing technology solutions to improve patient experiences and clinic efficiency. His work has also included evaluating and updating staff training, tools, and technology, including clinic design and change management functions.

Ryan’s expertise in strategic analysis has enabled him to create a national heat map selection program that systematically ranks approximately 380 markets across the U.S., guiding healthcare organizations in selecting optimal locations for expansion. He has also worked with a world-leading healthcare technology company to assess patient engagement tools, identifying the most effective segments of the patient journey to improve.

Ryan is recognized for his leadership in health system strategy and his operational experience in the retail health sector. He also co-hosts a podcast that explores topics in healthcare strategy and leadership. Ryan holds a Bachelor of Science degree from The Pennsylvania State University and an MBA from Temple University.

 

Christopher Kerns

Christopher Kerns is a healthcare executive, researcher, and strategist who specializes in producing executive-level insights for the healthcare industry’s leading organizations. He is the CEO and a co-founder of UNION HEALTHCARE INSIGHT—a research, education, and consulting firm serving cross-industry leaders. He ensures Union provides a holistic view of the healthcare world, with knowledge of multiple perspectives informing Union’s unique point of view. He is known for his willingness to go beyond the headlines to explore the true motivations behind the hype for any given strategic issue.

Prior to founding Union, Christopher was Vice President for Executive Insights at Advisory Board, a for-profit membership organization providing strategic research and events to the healthcare industry (and now operates as a division of Optum and UnitedHealth Group). He led all Advisory Board research aimed at senior executives across the entire health sector—which included overseeing and hosting its regular podcast, Radio Advisory, and Stay Up to Date as a weekly webcast. He began his career as a healthcare financial analyst focusing on stocks, bonds, and mutual funds, and over the years expanded his expertise to span the entire industry. He has led or overseen more research studies on health system strategy, partnership, capital allocation, revenue cycle, and supply chain than he’d prefer to count. You might have seen him quoted in The New York Times, The Washington Post, and Modern Healthcare, and his work has been published by Harvard Business Review. He earned his MBA at the Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland, and holds a BA from the University of Pennsylvania.

A few things to note about Christopher: He was born in Washington, D.C., and still lives there. He can pick out a James Bond song usually within three notes. You’ll often find him on or near the Chesapeake Bay, or singing loudly at a concert. The amount of Depeche Mode recordings and merchandise he owns can only be described as obsessive.

 

Jeff Kiser, MHA

Jeff Kiser is the Market Head of Sales & Service for Aetna, a CVS Health Company. In this capacity, Jeff is responsible for new business sales and account management in the Mid-South (NC/SC/TN). Jeff has over 30-years of health executive experience including leadership roles with WakeMed Health & Hospitals where he served as Director of Managed Care Contracting / Corporate & Community Health and with UnitedHealthcare where he served as Director of Network Management for North Carolina. Jeff is an Eagle Scout and is also very active in the community where he has served on boards or leadership teams for the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, the American Heart Association and the YMCA. Jeff holds a B.S. in Business Management from Virginia Tech and a Masters in Health Administration from the Medical College of Virginia.

 

Jason Lineen, MBA

As UVA Health’s ("UVAH") Chief Strategy Officer, Jason provides executive counsel and leadership for UVAH's strategic planning efforts, service line expansion and transformation initiatives; including structuring strategic affiliations, mergers, acquisitions and partnerships. As the inaugural CSO at UVAH, Jason has rapidly built a System Strategy Office team and successfully led the development of UVAH's first ever institutional strategic plan that spans: (i.) all four mission areas (clinical care, education, research, and community) and (ii.) all seven UVAH entities (the Schools of Medicine and Nursing, University Medical Center, University Physicians Group, the Health Sciences Library, UVA Community Health, and UVA Community Health Medical Group). Additionally, Jason has spearheaded UVAH's statewide expansion efforts that include (i.) UVAH taking sole ownership of Culpeper, Haymarket and Prince William Medical Centers, (ii.) forming a new strategic affiliation with Riverside Health (a top ranked five-hospital health system serving Eastern Virginia) and (iii.) establishing a wide range of successful clinical collaborations with community hospitals across Virginia.

Prior to UVA Health, Jason spent two decades as a health care strategy management consultant and an entrepreneur. Most recently, Jason launched and led the consulting practice at AVIA, a Chicago-based healthcare strategy and digital innovation firm. Additionally, Jason held leadership roles at the Tiber Group (a boutique healthcare strategy firm), Navigant Consulting's Healthcare Strategy/M&A Practice (now Guidehouse) and Deloitte.

He serves on numerous boards including: Newport News-based Riverside Health, AVIA and Co-Chairs the Fortify Children's Health Board of Directors (Virginia's first pediatric clinically integrated network). Jason holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame and a Master of Business Administration, with a certificate in Healthcare Industry Management, from Northwestern's Kellogg School of Management.

 

Jonathan Oberlander, PhD

Jonathan Oberlander is professor and chair of Social Medicine and professor of Health Policy & Management at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Dr. Oberlander is author of The Political Life of Medicare (University of ChiJcago Press) and co-editor of the 2-volume series The Social Medicine Reader, 3rd edition (Duke University Press). His articles have appeared in journals such as the New England Journal of Medicine, Health Affairs, American Journal of Public Health, Milbank Quarterly, Social Science and Medicine, Journal of Policy Analysis and Management, Annals of Internal Medicine, and Journal of Law, Medicine, and Ethics. Dr. Oberlander currently serves as editor of the Journal of Health Politics, Policy and Law.

Oberlander holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in political science from Yale University, and a B.A. in political science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

 

Todd Quartiere, MMCi

Sparking imagination for responsible AI & health, Todd has become a visionary leader pushing the limits of performance improvement. He has over 12 years of experience between providing care as an EMT, in health service operations, management consulting, and nonprofit leadership. In his role as the Leader for Responsible AI at Vynamic, he helps clients simplify their AI journey as an action-oriented partner driving growth, performance, and culture. His team of consultants can cut through the noise and enable the successful adoption of AI.

Todd's goal is to maximize value from healthcare's digital transformation. He's worked across 200+ providers, payers, life science, public health, and health technology companies to realize over $250M in annual, recurring savings. His cutting-edge analytical platforms and solutions have incorporated GenAI technology since 2021, transitioning clients to new ways of working. In his free time Todd visits patients at UNC Health with his pet therapy dog, named Eleven.

 

Amy Shaheen, MD

Dr. Amy Shaheen is the Vice President, Practice Quality, and Innovation for UNC Health Alliance. As a Professor of Medicine in the Division of General Internal Medicine and Clinical Epidemiology, Dr. Shaheen is passionate about providing the best care for patients by making it easier for providers to deliver that care.

Dr. Shaheen leads the team that helps providers, clinics, and staff transform care delivery to Value. Under her leadership, the team provides meaningful analytics and reporting, population health solutions, care redesign workflows, and improvement collaboratives, including onsite coaching to help transform care delivery and maximize patient health through quality improvement and clinical implementation coaching.

Dr. Shaheen has worked as a primary care physician for 28 years. Over that time, she has led large-scale research and quality improvement projects around care and resource use variation in ambulatory care. In collaboration with the local Institute for Healthcare Quality Improvement (IHQI), she created experiential inter-professional curricula for students, residents, and faculty in population health and quality improvement.

Dr. Shaheen is a graduate of the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine and Northwestern University, where she received her Master of Science in Health Care Quality and Safety.

 

Brian Silverstein, MD

Brian Silverstein, M.D. is the Chief Population Health Officer for Innovaccer, a leading San Francisco-based healthcare IT company dedicated to accelerating innovation in healthcare.

Dr. Silverstein is a national healthcare strategic thought leader with expertise in operations and governance. He has partnered with health system executive teams to drive transformational initiatives in value-based delivery, population health management, clinically integrated networks, ACOs, patient access and governance.

Dr. Silverstein served as Senior Vice President at CareFirst BlueCross Blue Shield where he implemented one of the pioneering value care delivery programs. He has served in leadership roles with The Chartis Group, Geisinger Consulting Group, The Camden Group, and Sg2 Health Care Intelligence.
Dr. Silverstein is a faculty member and advisor for The Governance Institute and The American College of Healthcare Executives. He is also a former faculty member for The Thomas Jefferson School of Public Health QSLS. He serves on the editorial board for Population Health Management and is a system and ACO board member for OSF Healthcare.

Dr. Silverstein was named one of the 10 people to know in the World of ACOs by Becker’s Healthcare. He received his M.D. from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine and completed his internship in internal medicine with McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University.

Liz Vogel

As an organizational effectiveness executive, Liz helps companies manage change, including rapid growth, business turnarounds, culture shifts, and reputational crisis through methodologies that improve outcomes for leadership, employees, and the clients/communities they serve.

Liz has built and scaled organizational development functions, helped C-suite leaders examine market influences to envision the future state of their businesses, and designed and executed strategic communications plans to reverse reputational liability and rebuild internal and external trust.

Currently, Liz is a key member of the team driving change at Moffitt Cancer Center. As the organization navigates explosive growth, she is scaling leadership and operations to meet the demands of an ever-changing healthcare industry experiencing dramatic patient care, privacy, technology, social, and human capital disruption.

Joe Williams

Since 2016, Joe has been Orlando Health’s Senior Vice President of Strategic Planning, responsible for identifying and developing strategic growth initiatives including partnerships and acquisitions for the $7B in revenue health system. He also supports the process for allocation of growth capital while managing Orlando Health’s ongoing strategic-planning process.

Prior to joining Orlando Health in 2014 as Vice President of Corporate Strategy, Joe worked for the General Electric Company in a variety of strategy and business development roles within GE Healthcare and GE Capital.

Joe earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Rhode Island, an MBA from Rollins College, and a master’s in Healthcare Policy from The University of Pennsylvania.

 

Matt Woodrow, MBA

Matt Woodrow is the Senior Director of Strategic Planning at Orlando Health. In this role, he is responsible for the organizational strategic planning process, identifies growth opportunities, and develops initiatives to drive the company's long-term success.

Before joining Orlando Health, Matt held various positions in healthcare operations at DaVita and Walmart Health and served in the Army Special Forces as a Green Beret. He has a proven track record of successfully leading complex projects and driving organizational growth across healthcare, technology, and military industries.

Matt earned his MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University and a bachelor’s degree in supply chain management from the University of Maryland. Outside of work, Matt enjoys boating, fishing, and playing pickleball. He lives in Orlando, FL with his wife, Kendra, and their two children, aged 2 and 5.
